Location of the Hotel D'Este Rome
Sitting on Via Carlo Alberto 4b, the three star Hotel D’Este is centrally placed offering fantastic access to many tourist attractions and amenities. Just one hundred yards from our front door rises the stunning Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, one of Rome’s four Patriarchal Basilicas. Its richly decorated interior and its stunning Byzantine Mosaics are a wonder to behold.
To the east, past the buzzing Piazza Vittorio with its international markets and restaurants, lies the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano another of the cities patriarchal basilicas, standing against the immense Roman walls close to Porta Maggiore, the main entrance to the ancient city.
The zone of Esquilino also has the fantastic advantage of having been a very central area for the well to do in ancient Rome. By crossing the park of Colle Oppio to the south of our establishment, one is instantly transported to the historical city centre of the ancient city, once the most important in the known world. The immense Colosseum rises up against the backdrop of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, amongst remains over two thousand years old! This heritage pays testament to the once great city state that not only dominated these lands, but territories as far a field as Asia Minor and Britain.
The immediate area also offers other fantastic opportunities for holiday makers as well as any useful amenities one may need while travelling. For shopping and fashion close by there is Via Nazionale with its fashion outlets and designer shops. Looking for something more particular? Why not try the winding streets of the bohemian Monti area with its wide range of independent boutiques and young designer’s shops.
In the immediate area all kinds of amenities such as banks, post offices, supermarkets, delicatessens, gyms, international food markets, restaurants and bars are easily found. Looking for some nightlife? Just around the corner from our Hotel sit the oldest pubs in the city, so after a fantastic Italian meal, you can enjoy a drink or two in the friendly and convivial atmosphere they offer.
